LANSING, September 5, 1997 – The club that works together … wins together?
That’s certainly true for PRI Lotto Club of Coleman! All 10 club members work at Packaging Resources Inc. in Coleman, and they recently split a $150,000 prize for matching the first five numbers drawn in the Michigan Lottery’s Big Game.
The winning numbers in the August 22 Big Game drawing were: 6, 8, 11, 24, 30 and the Big Money Ball number was 4.
"I was the first one to find out we won," said club member James Hollon Jr. "I knew what matching five numbers was worth but it caught me off guard. Then I told as many of the club members as I could; most of us were at work at the time."
The 10-member club has played Michigan Lottery games for about four months. Each club member picked a six-number Big Game wager, and it was Kevin Jones who found the winning combination.
Club members, who range in age from 28 to 40, plan to use their winnings to pay bills.
The winning Big Game ticket was purchased at Beaverton IGA, 360 Ross Street, in Beaverton.
Members of the PRI Lotto Club include:
- Kenneth Sullivan of Farwell
- James Hollon Jr. of Gladwin
- Michael Janderwski of Clare
- Kevin Jones of Coleman
- Sherry Cartwright of Coleman

Tonight’s (September 5) Big Game jackpot is estimated at $20 million.
