LANSING, September 5, 1997 – Patience paid off for Kalamazoo resident Margaret Nelson – she’s the latest top prize winner in the Michigan Lottery’s Big Game!

Nelson matched the first five numbers in The Big Game drawing on August 22 to win a prize of $150,000!  The winning numbers in that day’s Big Game drawing were: 6, 8, 11, 24, 30 and the Big Money Ball number was 4.

"I’ve been playing the same numbers for almost a year, since the game started," said Nelson.  "When my husband told me I matched five of them, I didn’t believe him!"

Nelson has been a regular Michigan Lottery player for 25 years.  Her winning numbers were a combination of family birthdays, and Nelson said she plans to share her winnings with her family.

The winning ticket was purchased at 7-Eleven, 3726 Mount Olivet Road, in Parchment.

The Big Game offers nine ways to win cash prizes.  Players pay $1 for each play, and choose five numbers from 1 to 50, as well as one additional number from 1 to 25.

Tonight’s (September 5) Big Game jackpot is estimated at $20 million.
