LANSING, July 16, 1997 – Good fortune was "just around the corner" for a Flint man – he won the $100,000 Cash 5 top prize in the July 11 drawing with an easy-pick ticket purchased at The Lucky Corner, 1718 Dupont St., in Flint.

"I watched the Cash 5 drawing but only caught the first two numbers," said the winner when he came to Michigan Lottery headquarters to claim his prize.

"I knew I had matched a few numbers so I went to the store and checked the winning numbers board," he said. "I saw all five of my numbers and I just froze!  The store clerk printed a winning numbers report, and it was true – I won $100,000!"

The 65-year-old winner, who requested anonymity, said he’ll use his winnings to pay bills and take a vacation to visit his mother.

The winning Cash 5 numbers on July 11 were: 6, 24, 27, 31 and 36.

In addition, another Flint resident really cashed in with the top prize in the new "Cash for Life" instant game – $1,000 a week for life!

The winner, who requested complete anonymity, purchased the winning "Cash for Life" ticket at Mr. B’s Inc. #2, 3402 Richfield Road, in Flint.

Cash 5 drawings are conducted every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.  Michigan Lottery instant tickets are available at more than 9,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.
